94.7 WPVC is Charlottesville’s progressive non-profit news-talk community radio station. National programs include Democracy Now!, Bill Press, Thom Hartman, Leslie Marshall, Mark Levine, and Stephanie Miller. We also broadcast many local talk and interview shows. Music programming includes Spanish programming from 7-9PM and on weekends from 12-6PM plus EDM on Friday evenings from 9PM-7AM Saturday morning. EDM music is also heard at other times on the weekend from the EDM Dance Network. Folk Music with John Hill is heard on weekends from 7AM-10AM. WPVC began its broadcasting life on October 12, 2015. WPVC is “Where Facts Matter”.
WPVC is a member of Charlottesville’s unique radio organization, the Virginia Radio Coop. We are four stations operating independently under one roof and with one primary transmitter site. Stations in Ruckersville, and Richmond are also members. Our studios are located in the Seminole Square Shopping Center at 394 Hillsdale Drive on the second level of the building which is located behind Burger King. We are located past ATA Martial Arts and next door to Full Sail Ballroom Dance Studio on the upper level. Snap Fitness is on the floor below us. Other Charlottesville area Radio Coop members include Rock Hits 92.3 XRK (WXRK), Classic Oldies 97.9 WREN Charlottesville, and Classic Hip-Hip and R&B 101.3 WVAI. Radio Coop members also include 96.5 WKMZ Ruckersville, and Adult Alternative 103.3 WBDB Richmond.
